Cooking with Gluten-free Grains

2:00pm Saturday 5th May 2018.

Saturday 5th Mayy 2018.

Afternoon class: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

This class is all about different gluten-free whole-grains (though they aren't all technically grains), how to use them and the importance of whole-grains in the diet. You will learn lots of interesting facts, have a chance to see the grains being cooked and have a taste to find the ones you like.

These days most folk have tried Rice and Quinoa as gluten-free grain options. But what about all the others?

There is also Amaranth, Buckwheat, Corn, Millet, Sorghum and Teff to try out. Some are easy to find locally so those are the ones we are going to cook up in this class.

We will be whipping up delicious recipes for savoury side dishes, a fabulous stuffing, and it wouldn't be complete without a dessert - chocolate of course!

Even though this class is using gluten-free products it is a great class for anyone. Adding variety to your diet is a great way to ensure that you are getting all of the nutrients you need for your health and well-being.
